And we turn one today and we are celebrating.
A big Thank you to our family,
friends, blogger friends, well-wishers, and each one of you who have been an
important part of our one year journey of learning and sharing, one that I look
forward to continuing with all the love, support with lots and lots of
encouragement from you all.
I hope you will join me for many
more sharing, inspiring, and educating adventures, in my second blogging year
at www.myculinarytales.com
Here we celebrate this milestone
of our first Blogiversary with our all-time favorite no-bake Marie biscuit cake, which we have been making and eating since childhood. A simple yet extremely
humble piece of cake can be easily prepared by kids and adults with so much fun.
We do have a lot of fun memories
with this cake, especially the one topped with colorful Gems chocolate on top,
the excitement of gobbling the chocolates even before the cake
If any of you have any such
memories then please do share we would love to hear it out.
I started this blog on an
auspicious day of my Pappa’s 70th birthday last year and here’s wishing Pappa a
very happy birthday!!
Do try out this recipe with your
family as part of the family time or weekend snack time and I am sure kids are
going to love it.

Ingredients
1 pack of Britania Marie biscuits
100 gm Amul salted butter
250 gm icing sugar (Sieved)
½ tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp Nescafe powder
1 cup water
Almond flakes, chocolate
triangles for decoration
Procedure
In a
pan take water and add Nescafe to it and let it boil for 5minutes. Set it
aside. Let it cool down completely.
In a bowl, mix together Amul butter (At room temperature), icing sugar, and vanilla
essence until smooth and creamy buttercream icing is formed.
Now
take each Marie biscuit and dip it in the coffee and arrange it on a plate or a
cake board making one round layer like a flower shape with one biscuit on the
top. (In the picture above, we have made a tower shape, that’s an option in
case you wish to make a small version of the cake)
Now
spread some buttercream on this layer. Next is the same procedure for a biscuit
layer and keep doing this until biscuits are over or even layers are ready.
Ideally,
one pack of Marie makes 4 layers resulting in a flowery-shaped round cake.
Cover
the top with the icing, decorate the sides with almond flakes and top it with
some chocolate triangles or any form of decoration of your choice.
Notes
and Tips
Decorating this cake with
colorful gems chocolates is also a good option especially if making this cake
with kids.
